consulting & research

Professionally, I started out as an economist-slash-number-cruncher but I do a bit more than that now. I am director of EDGIS, a division of EDPlatform. I am mostly a data scientist, cleaning and pruning big chunks of data.

Recent big projects that I’ve worked on include:

  • Research for the Department of Energy (DoE) for the Renewable Energy Independent Power Programme (REIPP)
  • Research for the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDLR). I conducted financial analysis for a feasibility study
  • Analysis of municipal electricity tariffs for a study commissioned by the Energy Intensive Users Group (EIUG).

Below are a couple of pieces I wrote for the Daily Maverick that focus on macroeconomic analysis.
